Notes from – President

Sharanu,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Basava Samithi of Australasia Melbourne chapter members for electing me as a president. It is a great opportunity for me to serve as a Melbourne chapter president and engage in Basava Samithi activities. I am grateful to all the members, my family, and friends. 

Basava Samithi Melbourne chapter established in the year 1999 and since then it is serving the community and involve in many activities such as, monthly Sharana sangama, Mahamane, Australia Day parade, clean up Australia Day, Basava Jayanthi and Deepavali celebrations.

Year 2024 will be a remarkable year for Melbourne chapter, we are planning to celebrate a big milestone” Melbourne chapter Silver Jubilee celebration” (1999 –2024) in May month. On this occasion I would like to thank our trustee, Shri, Mallikarjun Malipatil, all past presidents & Executive committee members and volunteers for their dedication and spending their valuable time for the Basava Samithi, Melbourne chapter.

  As a Basava Samithi of Australasia Malborne chapter president,

  • I will make sure that the organization’s objectives and goals are attained.
  • I will collaboratively work with the Executive committee members and conduct calendar events successfully. 
  •  I will work honestly and serve the community needs.
  •  I will follow organization guidelines and regularly attend with other chapter president meetings.

Basava Jayanthi 2024

2024 is a joyous and proud period in time for Basava Samithi Melbourne Chapter is bracing up to celebrate Silver Jubilee (1999-2024). As you already have been communicated ‘Silver Jubilee Basava Jayanti 2024’ will be celebrated on the 11 May 2024
As a part of the Silver Jubilee Basava Jayanti celebration it is planned to publish a souvenir magazine ‘Arive Guru’.
In this regard we welcome articles for publication in the magazine pertaining to Vachana literature, Sharana’s life/culture, and their teachings, or about the relevance of this in contemporary life or as a guide for the future generations. 
You could send in your own vachanas or poems etc too. The work could be from any member of the family and in Kannada or English language.
