Basava Samithi of Australasia Melbourne chapter is celebrating Basava Jayanthi every year usually it will be in April month.
Basva Jayanthi - celebrated across the world but mainly states of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, this festival marks the birth anniversary of the 12th-century saint and poet-philosopher Basavanna, whose progressive and egalitarian stance against gender and caste-based discrimination is nothing short of legendary.
